There’s something incredibly special about a wedding day that doesn’t go exactly as planned, but still turns out absolutely perfect in its own way. Alejandra and Marco’s Easter wedding was just that.
After having to reschedule their day last minute, they showed up with nothing but positive energy, excitement, and a deep focus on what truly mattered: getting married. It was one of those days that felt effortlessly joyful from beginning to end. Alejandra and Marco got married at Walter Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro, OR. The Walter Cultural Arts Center is a multi-use arts and performance venue in downtown Hillsboro, Oregon. The Center is a stone building completed in 1949 as a Lutheran church. It had beautiful light shining through and felt intimate despite being in Downtown Hillsboro.
They made their celebration completely their own, starting with one of my favorite details the flower girls passing out rubber ducks dressed as a bride and groom instead of traditional petals. It was playful, unexpected, and had everyone smiling. And in true Portland fashion, they skipped the classic wedding cake and treated their guests to Voodoo Doughnuts instead.
As if the day couldn’t get any better, we were gifted with the warmest Easter weather we’ve seen in the past decade. Sunshine poured in all day, and as the evening settled, the sky transformed into the dreamiest blend of blue and pink like a cotton candy sunset just for them.
Alejandra and Marco’s wedding was a reminder that even when things don’t go according to plan, they can still turn out more beautiful than you imagined. It was joyful, personal, and completely unforgettable exactly how a wedding day should feel.
