The most important thing is to be yourself! The whole purpose of the shoot is to capture exactly what your family is like, and show your personalities. If you pick outfits that just aren’t ‘you’, you’ll feel uncomfortable, and trust me, it’ll show in the photos. First, talk about what kind of photos you want - formal or casual? You’ll want to coordinate with each other, rather than looking like your on a family reunion trip with matching shirts. Think about colors that complement each other. I recommend selecting lighter tones and more muted shades. By avoiding ultra-bright, bold colors, it will help bring all the attention to your faces. Same goes for patterns, keep it simple and not overbearing, and try to avoid everyone in your family wearing something patterned. Don’t forget to steam or iron your clothes ahead of time as well! Feel free to email/ text me potential outfit photos for style advice beforehand! Some great and affordable places to shop for outfits are: Lulus, Forever21, and H&M.
